my new wall

i've finally gotten a few things framed, and, at about 9 o'clock last night (in the midst of my cleaning rampage), i decided to decorate an empty wall in our bedroom. considering today is my first day back at school with the kiddos, i probably should have been working on getting to sleep, but i love the way it turned out:

the 8's print is from my dad, which he made for me for my birthday. one day we were riding bikes near his neighborhood and we rode by an old fire station. at the time, he was working on a series of 2, 1, and 4 numbers for an area code print, but on the outside wall of the station, there was an 8 on the wall, which is my favorite number. i asked him to take a picture of it anyway, since it was retro and an 8, and then, unbeknownst to me, he took 63 more pictures of 8's to make 8 squared for my 25th birthday. anyway, i finally got it framed over the break (had to go custom because of the large size), and i love how it turned out.

the two prints in the white frames came from the lovely sara and kelly over at the spotted fox. i won them in one of their giveaways, and i LOVE them. run and tell that!

the other print i found here, and it is FREE. my friend meredith printed it for me at work, and while i could have trimmed it to make it fit in a more regular frame, i liked the white space at the bottom so i went for another custom frame. framing is expensive. who knew?

above the print are a few of the photo booth print outs from my friend imogen's wedding. i know you can't see the pictures, but there are some real gems in there, like these:

you can see pleasant goat chillin in the corner; he dances when the sun hits is base. that's one of the things that makes me happiest in this world: waking up on a lazy, sunny saturday morning and seeing pleasant goat swaying back and forth.. i got him when i went to beijing to visit my mom last christmas, and it's my favorite souvenir.

the books, vase, and train case all came from various trips to goodwill. when you open up the train case(which has vintage stickers of animals on each side), there's a mirror on the underside of the lid that someone wrote "hello, beautiful!" on. can't help but smile when you see that.  

jj says this wall is a little girly, but other than the flowers and the little train case, i don't really think so. what do you think?
