this is always the most stressful time of the year. my third graders are only a few weeks away from taking their first TAKS test, and while i have no doubt that they'll all do just fine, it doesn't mean that my work load is any lighter. once the test is over, though, we can start having a little more fun, do a little more fourth grade prep, and i won't be tutoring twice a week after school.
i'm ready to get back to crafting. i have so many ideas of things i'd like to try and do or make; i just need the time to do it. post-TAKS should allow for some of that, but i imagine this summer will give me lots of time to play around. i really want to make a piece of art using a poem jj showed me in harper's, but i don't know how to go about doing that (ie, how to give credit). i assume if i just make it for myself, there's no problem, but if i want to make it to sell, i want to be sure i'm giving credit where credit is due. anyone know the protocol for that kind of thing?
i've been working out every day, thanks to my friend kiley. i was starting to do it on my own, but it's made such a difference doing it with her, since she can hold me accountable (and vice versa). glad that that aspect of my life is already on track to getting back to normal. i'm ready for you, toned arms and abs. this website has also helped refresh my memory of how much i should be eating. working out + eating right is the only way to get after it. oh, and yesterday i bought a bike! i'm so happy about it. i sold the other two bikes i had bought from people on craigslist because they were both too big (since they were men's bikes). i had been planning on buying a bike this weekend anyway, and it just so happened that bicycle sports shop was having a super sale, so i got an awesome deal on a pretty bike that actually fits me. getting that bike made it the happiest of days.
jj just left yesterday, but i'm already ready for him to come home. i don't like it when he's gone. the house just seems too empty. he sent me that picture of the sunset last night. i'm glad he did, because sunsets are meant to be shared.
