(list started on 11.6.09; list completed/begun 1.14.10.)
i started making this list about two months ago and just recently reached the 101st goal. then i reorganized everything so that each goal would fit into a category, although i found several could fit under more than one. doing this, i hope, will help me keep track of everything and accomplish more. i also decided to keep each goal with its original number, just because.
so, here goes nothing:
for health/fitness:
101. do ten push ups and ten sit ups every night for a month.
95. take vitamins every day for a month.
67. take a belly dancing class.
57. start running with my students on fridays to gear up for field day.
56. begin walking to get my mail instead of stopping while driving.
48. attend one of jack and adam's bike classes.
13. get over my fear of the swimming and complete a sprint triathlon.
10. run at least three times a month. challenge myself to do it more often than that.
2. complete a half marathon.
17. become more dedicated to riding my bike.
58. floss.
68. get back into doing yoga on a regular basis.
for leisure/fun/creativity:
19. read at least 20 new books. (0/20)
21. attend a quote-a-long at the alamo drafthouse.
29. go sky diving.
30. go camping.
32. make my own font.
35. go to at least one baseball game every summer.
50. watch the star wars trilogy so my six-year-old brother won't be ashamed of me anymore.
51. also watch: the godfather, pulp fiction, american history x, requium for a dream, and any other classically old/good movies that i've never seen (perhaps use afi's list to help).
53. make more crafts!
54. make time to walk up and down south congress at least once a month, preferably on a sunday afternoon with friends.
60. sing at a karaoke bar (singing with friends in a private room doesn't count).
61. go to a trivia night; aim for once a month?
66. make this blog prettier, which will make me want to update it more.
71. tag 'fireball' somewhere in downtown austin.
73. watch five documentaries. (0/5)
96. make five new playlists on itunes without the help of genius. (0/5)
82. shoot a gun.
for photography:
62. take one picture every day for one month and turn it into an album (do this with polaroids?).
97. upload pictures on picasaweb.
91. do a recreated picture with claire from when we were younger.
78. take pictures of myself completing said things on this list. use them while completing #76.
7. stay on top of my printing pictures/albums (do this once every six months or so).
for writing:
76. blog about completing this list.
70. write a letter, put it in a glass bottle, set it to sea.
14. write in my journal at least twice a month.
24. write a children's book.
25. illustrate said children's book.
52. write about the new books i read on goodreads.com.
65. send 20 postcards from postcrossing.com.
85. make my own ABC book.
86. make a journal for keeping a list of things that make me smile. one entry per day for all 1001 days.
80. buy/complete wreck this journal.
81. buy/complete all about me.
for food:
1. cook a new recipe every month.
9. take a cooking class.
18. try ten new restaurants in austin. (3/10)
20. eat no sweets for a month (or maybe two weeks).
45. don't eat fried foods for a month.
49. make crepes.
55. make bread with my breadmaker.
72. roll my own sushi.
87. don't eat meat for a week.
88. eat fruit every day for a month.
92. always have one bottle of red, one bottle of white at home.
93. cook a meal using only local, organic products.
83. i don't know if i can/will ever actually do this one, but: eat a raw tomato.
for travel:
6. stay in a hostel while traveling abroad.
8. invest in real luggage.
23. visit four new places in the united states.
31. visit three new cities in texas (ideas: shiner, marfa, kermit, winnie, houston).
34. attend mardi gras in new orleans.
98. go to hippie hollow. get naked.
for education:
3. retake the GRE. do better.
46. apply to grad school. hope to god to get accepted.
63. learn esperanto.
for myself:
4. move away from austin (this will only be done if i can find another job. if i can't then the goal will be to move out of an apartment and into a house.)
33. get better furniture for my living room.
36. break the habit of biting/chewing/picking at my lip.
37. take care of my nails more (manicures/pedictures).
39. deep clean my car.
47. make a point to do more random acts of kindness; bonus points if they don't include money.
59. give more compliments.
99. change the name to the title of my car. i mean really.
84. buy a cactus; don't let kittens kill it.
for friends/family/romance:
41. arrange a trip for my brother to come see me all by himself once he gets old enough to fly on his own. or, he and i will take a trip together, perhaps with claire, somewhere on our own without dad and nancy.
15. send more letters to my sister, grandmother, brother and birthday cards to friends/family via snail mail.
94. make someone a cake for their birthday. cupcakes are also acceptable.
100. go on ten dates that don't revolve around a restaurant. (0/10)
43. take a vacation with my boyfriend.
for social:
27. begin a monthly dinner club with friends.
28. attend one of book people's book clubs.
79. make a new friend.
for shopping:
12. shop at goodwill no more than twice a month. sounds stupid but goodwilling is my biggest vice.
69. attempt to purchase all of the beatles' albums on vinyl (cost may make this one not possible).
for finances:
5. put at least $50 into my mutual fund every month.
16. not spend money on food/alcohol for an entire week (monday-friday).
64. pay off at least half of what's remaining of my student loan.
for school:
22. start a recycling club or program at my school (or at least in my classroom).
26. write a book with my class.
38. grade papers and enter grades in a more timely manner.
40. make a photo album of flat stanley's adventures for my class using the stanleys and pictures that my wonderfully generous friends and family have taken.
44. stay on top of my at home/school organization for papers, grades, bills, etc.
for charity:
11. donate my hair to locks of love once it gets long enough.
42. donate unused school supplies to charitable organizations at the beginning/close of every school year.
74. during the summer, visit the animal shelter and walk/play with the dogs at least four times.
75. give someone a gift from oxfam or the like for christmas.
89. volunteer with a non-profit i hear about on KUT.
90. donate on the first day of KUT's fundraisers.

this is the coolest list! MYGOD!! I love it....many of your bad habits are my bad habits too. So I guess you can blame it on the bad habit gene.
