apparently i am not so good at maintaining my blog. the little things escape me and then i scramble to remember what i have accomplished and when i did it and what i did to accomplish that thing and then blogging becomes more of a chore than i want it to be. so, goal for april, don't suck at blogging.
first, i did a cooking class with jessica at thai fresh (#9: take a cooking class). we both had purchased a groupon and used it to take a class on how to cook thai noodles. it was a lot of fun getting to play in the kitchen, and jam was super nice and helpful. only thing is, she has a taste for the spicy, so once you get home, you'll probably want to edit your recipes to cut the amount of peppers used in half. at the restaurant itself, i like that the menu changes daily based on what local, organic, fresh ingredients are available. if they can't get beef from the farm they usually buy from, they'll still make a dish, but use chicken, pork, or tofu instead. love it! makes me okay with eating meat there, too. :D
#88: eat fruit every day for a month was a success, minus a few days of travel during spring break. oh well, i'm not going to beat myself up over it. i also pseudo-successfully completed #95: take vitamins every day for a month, but had to quit do to unforeseen circumstances. turns out i was doing myself more bad than good with the amount and type of vitamins i was taking, so now i just have to edit that and i should be good.
obviously, based on the post that precedes this, i took a vacation with my boyfriend (#43). i want to take another vacation with him, but the cost of that one took a big chunk out of my savings, so probably won't happen for awhile.
since my last post, i've booked my flight for costa rica in june and my flight to paris in july. i'll be visiting my cousin johanna in costa rica because she's studying abroad there, and obviously visiting claire for the same reasons. she'll have just finished up her classes by the time i get there, so we'll stay in paris for a bit (at least until bastille day, yay!) and then begin traveling around. any suggestions as to where to go, i'll take 'em, because i'll be there for three weeks. i also found out my mom will be in north carolina at the beginning of july, so i'll be going to see her for a few days and then leaving from there with my big old backpack to head to paris. lots of traveling coming up...gotta start saving money!
while on vacation, i finished two books (#19: read at least 20 new books). i read the mysterious benedict society by trenton lee stewart (borrowed and recommended from lauren), and middlesex by jeffrey eugenides (recommended by my mom). need to put my reviews up on goodreads for those.
i've been riding my bike a lot more (#17: become more dedicated to riding my bike) because i've started keeping it on jj's porch. there are lots more places to ride safely up near campus and by jj's house, so now i'm riding it all the time to get groceries, to go to dinner, to come to posse, etc. i hate that it's not safe to ride by my house, but i don't see lamar getting a bike lane any time soon, so at jj's house bernard the bike will stay.
okay, that's enough for now (trying to keep posts short, aunt ann!). time for me to go to an easter cookout at my friend james' house and then figure out what i'm going to do at school this week. catch y'all later!
