first, this awesome website, cosa verde, is having an earth day give away! this website features handmade ecofriendly products sold directly by the producer to the consumer in an etsy-type fashion. i've found a few things i think i may be ordering soon, like anything from zoetropa's store or these pillows. anyway, to enter the give away, all you have to do is post a comment saying which store's product is your favorite and why (mention something about its ecofriendlyness), and the winners (there will be four!) will be chosen on the 23rd. click on the link below to enter! good luck!
Cosa Verde's 2nd Annual Earth Day Giveaway!
now: sooner rather than later, i'll be updating about all the yummy new places i've tried in austin. right now, to collect my thoughts, i'm just going to list the places i've been so i don't forget:
buenos aries cafe
paggi house
louie's 106
beets cafe
phil's icehouse
imperia
el arbol
enoteca
counter cafe
that's all i can remember for now, but that's nearly another ten places, and there's many more to try! and, while i'm on the subject of food, i've also tried several new recipes (#1: cook a new recipe every month) and attended a few dinner parties where other delicious dishes were had (#27: begin a monthly dinner club with friends). not much is better than good food, good friends, and good wine. crafting and playing board games are an added bonus! :D
in other news, i donated to KUT (#90: donate on the first day of KUT's fundraisers) on the first day of the spring fund drive! even though i'm dangerously close to losing my mind over the balance of my savings account, i figure the "i live here, i give here" motto applies to me so i should do just that. it wasn't enough to get a thank you gift, but no matter. next drive i'd really like to volunteer as a phone answerer. i think that'd be fun.
okay, time for bed. one for the happiness journal: four day work weeks. i love having mondays off. and those pictures make me happy, too. bluebonnets and banana peels. it's the little things, you know?
